This week theme is one of special interest for me.
I have an obsession with angels, but not exactly from the religious point of view. I like them in their old powerful self, from Mesopotamia and before.
But I have to recognize that the angelic catholic organization, with all the chorus and different kind of angels is fascinating.
However, I'm not sure if I'll have time to do something new, so I'm cheating again and posting old sketches, 10 or more years old.
This was done for a t-shirt.
Pencil, scanned, printed in and OLD (not so at the time) laser in a cheap brown paper (intentional), and highlights added with gouache. And yes, I burned the paper borders!
This is more suited for the theme.
And Angel fighting the 7 headed beast from the Apocalypses.
The wings are supposed to have tortured screaming faces from lost souls, but they are not obvious, and that was the plan.
There is also a little of Ying-Yang structure in the composition.
The tail from the dragon is creating a vortex to try to absorb the Angel -the light- to the abyss.
Just a sketch. I love big elaborated wings in my angels.
